SEPTEMBER 2023
Eastman Piano Series: Yunchan Lim | SEP. 17 | 3:00 PM | Kodak Hall
The news of Lim’s September 17 performance was met with such enthusiasm that his concert had to be moved from Kilbourn Hall to Kodak Hall to accommodate ticket sales. Lim was the gold-winner of the 2022 Cliburn Competition.
The Eastman Wind Ensemble with Andrew McCandless, trumpet | SEP. 20 | 7:30 PM | Kodak Hall
The internationally celebrated EWE returns to the Kodak Hall stage. Featured on this concert is Eastman’s newly appointed trumpet professor, Andrew McCandless, former principal trumpet of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
EMuSE with João Pedro Oliveira (Howard Hanson Visiting Professor) | SEP. 23 | 7:30 PM | Hatch Recital Hall
Composer João Pedro Oliveira, this year’s Howard Hanson Visiting Professor of Composition, joins the Electroacoustic Music Studios @ Eastman (formerly EARS) for their debut concert under their new director, Mikel Kuehn.

Kodak Hall Series: An Evening with Renée Elise Goldsberry | OCT. 6 | 8:00 PM | Kodak Hall
Tony and Grammy Award-winning actress Renée Elise Goldsberry (from the hit Broadway musical Hamilton) will make her Rochester debut accompanied by a full orchestra of student musicians (Eastman’s Empire Film and Media Ensemble), directed by Mark Watters, Director of Eastman’s Beal Institute and six-time Emmy Award-winning composer and conductor. Eastman-Ranlet Series: Belcea Quartet | OCT. 22 | 3:00 PM | Kilbourn Hall
The Belcea Quartet presents a program from the staples of the repertoire — Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 4 in C minor, Bartók’s first quartet and the sole quartet of Debussy.
Eastman Philharmonia performs Bruckner’s Ninth Symphony | OCT. 25 | 7:30 PM | Kodak Hall
Eastman’s flagship orchestra, under the leadership of Neil Varon, presents Anton Bruckner’s transcendent Ninth Symphony, the composer’s personal farewell to the world.
