From: Downtown at SundownBrookings Free Summer Concert Series
Downtown at Sundown is a 5-week, outdoor music festival offering FREE admission, FREE kids activities, a variety of local food and beverage options, and local retail vendors. Each night kicks off with vendors opening at 5:30 p.m., followed by the headliner band at 6 p.m! There are several engaging activities and booths for guests to enjoy including face painting, inflatables, yard games, retail/shopping booths, local business booths, food/drink stands with goodies available for purchase and more!
The primary goal of Downtown at Sundown is to create an all-ages event and central gathering place for community members and visitors alike.
Downtown at Sundown is five weeks of sunshine, live music, cold drinks, local food, and a friendly atmosphere. 2023 marks the eighth year of Downtown at Sundown, offering a family-friendly night out with FREE admission and FREE kids activities.
Each week features a different headliner act, while food vendors and retail booths offer a little something for everyone. Bring your friends and bring your family for five nights or pure fun under the sun in downtown Brookings!

5:30pm - 9pm: Ivory
Formed in an old one-room schoolhouse in 1975, Ivory wowed crowds touring in their semi-truck and producing massive sound and light experiences. Today, Ivory’s sets feature a lineup of all original members performing a wide variety of the biggest recognizable hits geared towards sing-along and get-up-and-dance music!

5:30pm - 9pm: Rowan Grace
Originating from Rapid City, South Dakota, singer songwriter Rowan Grace was a standout on Season 22 of The Voice. Along with her older brother, Rowan Grace writes her own songs as well as covers many hit songs ranging from Olivia Rodrigo to Billy Joel.

Multicultural Night
Soca Jukebox is a highly charismatic 5-person ensemble that uniquely blends Rock, Reggae, Country, and Calypso with interactive crowd engagement and humor. Their vocals are accompanied by live music featured through shimmering steel pans, Latin percussion, and guitar work. It is a musical getaway that is uplifting and entertaining for all ages.

5:30pm - 9pm: Barn Flies
New Resident Welcome Night
The Barn Flies have been called by fans a “country rock band with ADHD”, covering Willie Nelson to Waylon Jennings, AC/DC to Guns N Roses in the same set. It is a full-on experience. Much of their writing revolves around rodeo and rural life, along with a snarky dose of humor. The Barn Flies built a following by playing shows throughout Sioux Falls, Colman, Madison, Volga and our very own Brookings.

5:30pm - 9pm: Shalo Lee Band
SDSU Night
The Shalo Lee Band is a high energy female fronted southern rock band complete with four-part lead vocals, screaming guitars, a killer rhythm section, and major fiddle antics. The scope of the Shalo Lee Band is vast, mixing equal parts original songs with electrically charged covers performed with their own twist.
The evening kicks off with vendors at 5:30 p.m.
