From: Creative 360How far would you go for love? For art? What would you be willing to change? These questions and more take center stage when Creative 360 presents “The Shape of Things” by Neil LaBute on March 15th and 16th at 7 pm.
Filled with raw emotion and thought-provoking narrative, “The Shape of Things” delves into the complexities of relationships, the power dynamics between individuals, and the transformative nature of love and art. In this work, playwright LaBute, well-known for his provocative explorations of human behavior, challenges the audience to question their perceptions of morality and authenticity.
Directed by Laura Brigham, the cast includes Danielle Katsoulos (Bay City), Aaron Mealey (Midland), Brianne Dolney-Jacobs (Bay City), and Andrew Fergerson (Bay City).
“We are truly excited to bring this thought-provoking performance to our stage,” said Brigham. “Audiences will be drawn into the lives of the characters as they navigate through themes of identity, manipulation, betrayal, truth and art.”
With underlying themes of visual art and beauty, the play opens in an art museum. This presented a unique opportunity for Brigham to partner with local mural artist Jazz Benitez to design the set.
“Creative 360 was formed in 1991 to integrate all aspects of creativity,” Brigham reflected. “This production takes us back to our roots, seamlessly combining outstanding performance art with exceptional visual art. There are so many layers of engagement possible!”
