Fortepiano Concert with Daniel Adam Maltz
Thursday, June 1, 6:00pm
Join the RIHS for an evening of classical music on Thursday, June 1 at 6pm as we welcome Viennese fortepiano player Daniel Adam Maltz!
Enjoy Haydn and Mozart’s piano works performed as they were intended to be heard — in a historic home on a period instrument. Playing in the ballroom of the Society’s Aldrich House in Providence, Maltz will utilize his background in historic performance to give guests an authentic 18th-century show.
Sons of Providence Documentary
Thursday, June 8, 6:30pm
Join the Museum of Work & Culture on Thursday, June 8 at 6:30pm for an in-person screening of Sons of Providence: The Jewish History of Providence College, 1917-1965, a documentary about how Providence College became a welcoming haven for Jewish students during the first half of the 20th-century. The documentary features interviews with Jewish alumni, Providence College faculty, and experts placing their stories within the context of the era.
Following the screening, the museum’s Exhibit & Program Coordinator Deborah Krieger will engage in a hybrid discussion about the making of Sons of Providence with Providence College professors Arthur P. Urbano and Jennifer Illuzzi. Guests can register by emailing [email protected].
