- Cleveland Metroparks recently announced plans to expand its STEM education and workforce development initiatives with support from KeyBank. Once enhancements are complete, Barge 225 will become Cleveland Metroparks’ sixth year-round nature center operating in Wildwood Marina on the east side of Cleveland.

MEET NEW KOALA JOEY, BULU!
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo recently welcomed a male koala joey named Bulu. Born to mom Mackenzie, and dad Nyoonbi, keepers believe the birth was March 20. Pouch movements were first observed on May 30. Joeys stay in the pouch about 5-7 months while they grow and nurse. Bulu is out of the pouch now, and can be seen riding on mom's back or clinging to her belly! He has already started to mouth eucalyptus, and will soon begin eating it!

TOBOGGANING RESERVATIONS OPEN TOMORROW

Reservations open tomorrow, November 17 for the toboggan chutes in Mill Stream Run Reservation for the 2023-2024 season! The twin, 700-foot refrigerated ice chutes operate with or without snow through late February, weather permitting. Advance reservations are required. Toboggan season officially opens Friday, November 24.

DONATE YOUR LIGHTS FOR LIONS

Do you have broken or used holiday lights and extension cords? Donate them at the Zoo to help protect lions and cheetahs in Tanzania. Bring your broken, non-working or used strings of lights and extension cords to the Zoo for recycling now through February 10, 2024. Proceeds from recycling support the Zoo’s lion and cheetah conservation program partner Lion Landscapes.
