Cleveland Metroparks Spotlight

- Baby alert! Cleveland Metroparks Zoo welcomed a bison calf this past weekend! Both mom and calf are doing well and can be visited daily at Wilderness Trek. Stay tuned to hear how you can participate in naming the baby bison!

- It’s beginning to look a lot like summer! The Noshery at Huntington Reservation is now open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Stop by for a drink, the braided soft pretzel, crispy walleye sandwich, Honey Hut ice cream & more.

- May is bike safety month! Check out these quick tips on bike safety from Cleveland Metroparks Police Department.

Next Stop On The Tour: East 55th Street Marina

The Summer Concert Series presented by Serpentini Chevrolet continues tonight, May 25th, with The Attraxxion, featuring 80s hits at East 55th Street Marina! The weekly Thursday evening happy hour concerts offer free live music from 4 – 8 p.m. across seven iconic waterfront locations. Mark your calendar for next Thursday, June 1, for Michelle Romary (Country, Pop) at Huntington Reservation.

All Aboard!

Cleveland Metroparks eLCee2 Water Taxi officially opens for service on May 26! The free ride offers connections from the East Bank to the West Bank of the Flats, and the boat is ADA accessible and bike and dog-friendly!

Heading to Hinckley? Watercraft rentals including kayaks, stand up paddleboards and pontoon boats are returning to Hinckley Lake Boathouse & Store seven days a week beginning Friday, May 26!

Fox 8 Golf Outing Is Back!

The Fox 8 Golf Outing is back at Big Met Golf Course on Friday, June 23. Participate in the scramble, meet Fox 8 personalities, and receive lunch and a goodie bag. This year’s event is presented by CrossCountry Mortgage and supported by Serpentini Chevrolet.

 If you can’t make the tournament, come play 9-holes at Shawnee Hills Golf Course in Bedford or Washington Golf Course in Newburgh Heights on June 23 after 10 a.m. for $8 courtesy of Fox 8. 

Plan Ahead For Memorial Day Weekend

Plan ahead! Due to the expected high visitation at Edgewater Park this weekend, all guests are encouraged to arrive at Edgewater Park, Whiskey Island, Wendy Park and all other marinas and yacht clubs by early afternoon. Vehicular access to park entrances will close as the parking lots reach capacity.

Nature Programs This Weekend

Thurs., May 25:

- Stop at the Bicycling Open House and see different types of bikes, try your hand at changing a flat tire, and get the opportunity to ride the new pump track, or take a mountain bike on a nearby trail in Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation. Free, registration required. 

Sat., May 27:

- Join the Cuyahoga Astronomical Association and learn techniques for stargazing at How to: Binoculars & the Night Sky in Rocky River Reservation. Free.

- Hike in the Creek and experience the beautiful views hidden within the gorge at Bedford Reservation. Free, registration required.

- Come to Brecksville Reservation and learn how to identify trees and why they’re so important at Wilderness Skills: Livesaving Trees. Free. 

Sun., May 28:

- Drop-by: Smoky the War Dog in Rocky River Reservation and learn about Smoky, the World War II Yorkie, and other dogs who assisted in times of war. Free.

- Drop-by: Art in the Park Screen Printing at North Chagrin Nature Center and learn how to create art for your clothing! Free.

- Drop-by: Memorial Day Fun at the Trailside Program Center in Brecksville Reservation to learn about red, white and blue in nature. Free.

Mon., May 29:

- Join us at the Watershed Stewardship Center in West Creek Reservation for Memorial Day Nature Play, including a fun scavenger hunt, story trail, craft, and pond dipping. Free.
