  • Work underway: a new children’s play space is coming to Huntington Reservation this fall! Construction began this week on the Karen’s Way Play Space that will feature a willow tunnel, slide, playhouse, swing sets, a 50-foot kid-friendly zipline & more.

IT'S A BOY! HELP NAME THE ZOO'S BISON CALF

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s newest resident – a three-week-old male bison – needs a name! Vote now through June 19 for one of three names to help make a difference for bison conservation. Each of the names is culturally significant to indigenous communities restoring bison in the western United States.

  • The Boy Scout Merit Badge: Forestry program at West Creek Reservation offers a chance to learn from professional foresters and park managers while earning the Forestry Merit Badge! $30, registration required.

Sat., June 17:

  • Join us at Hinckley Reservation for Drop-By: Red Rover–Beavers and learn about the abundance of wildlife, including the beavers that live there! Free.
  • Join Be OUT in Nature Hike to celebrate Pride Month with LGBTQ+ people and allies while enjoying the scenic views at the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation. Free.
  • Come to South Chagrin Reservation for the Riparian Ramble where you’ll hike and search for unique creatures that live along the Chagrin River. Free.

Sat-Sun., June 17-18: 

  • Join us at the Wallace Lake Family Campout at Mill Stream Run Reservation and camp, fish, paddleboard, swim, kayak, and roast s’mores at this unique overnight event. Registration required. $10 per person.

Sun., June 18: 

  • Come to West Creek Reservation for the Nature Sprouts: Patterns in Nature scavenger hunt to search for shapes and patterns that are hidden outside. Free, ages 3-5 years with adult.
  • Come to Rocky River Nature Center for Drop-By: Dads in Nature and learn how different animal dads help to raise their young. Free.

Learn about The Secret Life of Crows, ravens, and jays in this indoor-only program offered at Rocky River Nature Center. Free.
