From: City Of New Smyrna BeachMiami Dolphins starting running back Raheem Mostert returned to his hometown New Smyrna Beach earlier this afternoon to spread holiday cheer and pass out a truckload of toys to local children displaced by Hurricanes Ian & Nicole and others attending Christmas Break Camp at the Historic Westside's Alonzo "Babe" James Community Center.
Mayor Fred Cleveland took the opportunity to proclaim Dec. 20, 2022 as the second "Raheem Mostert Day" in City of New Smyrna Beach history. The first was proclaimed by former Mayor Russ Owen on Feb. 2, 2020 in lieu of "Super Bowl Sunday" hot on the heels of Mostert's record-setting rushing performance of 220 years and four touchdowns on 29 carries in the San Francisco 49ers' NFC championship victory over the Green Bay Packers on Jan. 19, 2020.
The toy giveaway is thanks to the Raheem Mostert Waves of Success Foundation, recently founded with wife Devon Mostert, to provide youth opportunities through scholarships, programming, and real-life experiences.
Be sure to watch coverage of the giveaway on WESH 2 News, News 6 WKMG, and FOX 35 Orlando and follow Miami Dolphins Zone on social media for more photos & video!
