East Coast Cruisers Car Club President Pat Teehan officially announced the end of the club's over 26-year run hosting its Canal Street Classic Cruise Car Show via Facebook on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Well, after 26.5 and years on Canal St. we are Leaving. Leaving on our own. No one is making us leave. We have a Great relationship with the City of New Smyrna Beach. This was our decision. The East Coast Cruisers Car Club Inc. No one is making us leave. Sad to say, “We just don’t fit in anymore”. It is time for us to move on. We have made lots of Great memories during our time there. We have met many new friends, most of them we now call “Family”. We have also lost many Friends & Family over the last 26 years in our tight nit group. Seen LOTS of business come and go. Had many Marriage Proposals, Two Weddings, dozens of celebrities and been on countless Television spots during our Cruise Nights. During our years on the Street we have been fortunate enough to have given out Thousands of dollars for Scholarships to Local kids going into Automotive Trade Schools. Have donated every year for 26 years to our Local Food Banks during the holidays. Also have done 26 years of Toy Drive Collections to our local Police Department for there Operation Christmas Cheer. All the proceeds going to Local Families. NONE of which could not have been done without our Car and Motorcycle Community and Family from all over the Country. It hasn’t been all Up’s, there have been some downs over the years too. But we always seemed to work them out. Over the last year, it has just compounded to the point it wasn’t as fun for us anymore. We would like to thank the New Smyrna Beach City Council and the Down Town Merchant Association for giving us a chance so many years ago. Thank you also to All of the City of New Smyrna Beach Department Heads and employee’s for working with us every year and Our Local Police & Fire Department for always keeping us safe. And the Hand full of Merchants that have supported us.

For those of you that don’t know. We are relocating our Second Saturday of the Month Cruise Night to Port Orange. 1000 City Center Circle. Better known as “Lake Side”. Right off of Dunlawton Ave. It is a huge park surrounding a beautiful lake with shaded oak trees, very large and clean restrooms, (something we were missing on Canal Street) paved parking and overflow parking on their Soccer field. And also Food Vendors. Our First Cruise Night will be January 14th, 4-7pm. DJ Weasel will still be spinning the tunes for us. We hope that all of you who have supported us over the many years will come and join us in our New Venue. As always, this will be a Free show to the Cruisers & the Public. Again, this has not been an easy decision for any of us, but its time to move on. Let all your car guys know about our January move and Hope to see everyone One Last Time on Canal Street this coming Saturday December the 14th for our Final show and Final Toy Drive on Canal Street.

THANK YOU FROM ALL OF US!
