From: CinestudioCongratulations, Joe Barber, on being named the 2023-2024 Cinestudio Volunteer of the Year!
Joe, over the years, has been a stalwart supporter of Cinestudio. In his daytime role as Director of Community Service and Civic Engagement at Trinity, he helps bridge the gap between Cinestudio and our Trinity student volunteers and coordinators. Joe can be found volunteering his time at the box office during the week. He also serves as an integral part of the Trinity Film Festival. Joe's volunteer spirit reaches well past Cinestudio and deep into the Hartford community.

Singers Bob Wallace (Bing Crosby) and Phil Davis (Danny Kaye) join sister act Betty (Rosemary Clooney) and Judy Haynes (Vera-Ellen) to perform a Christmas show in rural Vermont. There, they run into Gen. Waverly (Dean Jagger), the boys’ commander in World War II, who, they learn, is having financial difficulties; his quaint country inn is failing. So what’s the foursome to do but plan a yuletide miracle: a fun-filled musical extravaganza that’s sure to put Waverly and his business in the black!
It's a Wonderful Life
December 16 - December 24
The hallmark of a great movie is its ability to continually provide new meaning within its cherished familiarity. Every year, we appreciate a new facet of Frank Capra’s classic holiday film, finding messages of sacrifice, love, community and hope. And in spite of what we read in the news, it is the movie’s awareness of the need to come together that shines through. James Stewart plays a small-town guy who sacrifices his dreams to help others, only to see his optimism crushed by greed. It takes an angel-in-training named Clarence to reveal what Bedford Falls would have become without his caring and commitment.
