Each year, we ask our community to support us in two ways, first by being a member - which comes with great benefits! - and then by making a fully tax-deductible gift to the Vic Skolnick Life of Our Cinema Campaign.

Our 2023 Vic Skolnick Life of Our Cinema Campaign is special and crucial for many reasons. 2023 marks our 50th Anniversary, and our first full calendar year of being open for in-person programs since the COVID-19 shutdown and our necessary repairs and renovation after severe flood damage in 2020.

Despite inflation and producing 13% more special programming this past year than we did in our last fiscal year prior to COVID, we spent 15% less on programs. We presented over 400 special events in addition to over 3,000 regular screenings this past year, with the smallest staff in over 15 years. We are literally doing more with less – but we need your help in order to continue.

A recent study conducted by the Long Island Arts Alliance demonstrated that in 2022, arts and culture organizations like the Cinema Arts Centre generated $330 million dollars in economic activity on Long Island. The Cinema Arts Centre was responsible for over $7,000,000 of that activity according to Customized Economic Impact Calculator for Long Island Cultural Organizations. Your investment in the Cinema Arts Centre contributes to the economic health of our whole community.
