Hello fans and friends of the Center Theatre,

If you’ve talked to anyone about our production of Honk! Jr. then you’ve heard what a fun show it is for the whole family! Or cast of kids from area schools have put together a wonderful musical. You have two more chances to see it! Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 2pm and then it’s gone.

We’re still showing Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3. It’s showing 6:30pm every evening until next Thursday with a Tuesday matinee at 12:30. And playing right now about 20 feet from where I’m sitting is Fast X. It will be here for 2 weeks.

Looking towards next weekend, it’s going to be a pretty busy time. Besides more showings of Fast X, we have Erica Brown and the Bluegrass Connection Friday at 7pm. These are some of the best Bluegrass musicians in New England and we’re lucky to get them on our stage. We still have plenty of tickets left, some please come out to support live music!

Then on Saturday the 27th from 11am to 2pm we’re holding auditions at the Center Theatre for our Summer Travelling Shorts. We cast a group of teens to put on a series of hilarious short plays over the course of the summer. They perform at 6 or 7 different locations and we are able to offer them a small stipend for each performance. No previous experience is required. And certainly not least, make sure you come to the Theatre on Sunday the 28th from 4pm to 7pm for our New Neighbor’s Block Party.  Live music by Troy Youngblood, Hotdogs and Hamburgers by the Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis, desserts and drinks, games and activities. And it’s all free!

Erica Brown and the BlueGrass Connection

Erica Brown and The Bluegrass Connection is a five-piece band featuring some of the finest musicians in New England. The band features award winning fiddler and singer Erica Brown, Matt Shipman on mandolin, Lincoln Meyers on guitar, Eli Gilbert on banjo and Kris Day on bass. A fun and energetic band, they incorporate a unique and diverse blend of original and traditional music from their Bluegrass, Folk and Country influences.

Sometimes crazy things happen in Dover-Foxcroft - like a red-hot DJ from the Netherlands passing through and giving an all ages dance-party! Be at Central Hall on Saturday, July 29th from 7pm to 9pm for R3LOAD! Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door or online at centertheatre.org. The event is at Central Hall, 152 East Main St., in Dover-Foxcroft (across from Walgreens).
