The 2023 Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey: Oct. 21 & 22

The Cape May Lighthouse is participating in the the Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey! This two-day event is held every year on the third weekend in October to encourage participants to visit lighthouses, life-saving stations and museums throughout the state. Commemorative T-shirts and mementos are offered for purchase to participants each year.

The challenge is to visit 10 land-based lighthouses, 3 lifesaving stations, 1 museum, and 1 virtual site over the two-day weekend. The challenge route spans the Atlantic Coast from Sandy Hook to Cape May and the Delaware Bay. Take the challenge and learn more about these historic treasures of New Jersey.

Challenge-goers can register on-site at any of the participating locations on Oct. 21.
