From: Cambridge Public LibraryCAMBRIDGE, MA -- The Cambridge Public Library will kick off their summer Park Sounds music series on Saturday, June 1, with a performance by Lady Lee and the New Awakening Band. Park Sounds brings free outdoor musical performances featuring local artists to Joan Lorentz Park, outside of the Main Library, on Saturday afternoons. These events are for all ages. Bring a chair, food, and loved ones to celebrate the summer! No registration is required. Visit the Library website for rain dates.

June 1, 1-3 p.m.: Lady Lee and the New Awakening Band Celebrate Caribbean Heritage Month as Lady Lee and the New Awakening?Band?kick off?Park Sounds 2024 with a mix of reggae originals and popular covers.?
June 15, 1-3 p.m.: The Squeezebox Stompers The Squeezebox Stompers are a Boston area Americana Roots band. They have performed Cajun, Zydeco, Blues, Folk, and originals all over New England for the past 20 years. They are noted for their step-lively up-beat music inspiring audiences to get up and dance.
June 29, 1:30-3 p.m.: Strummerville Ukulele Club The Strummerville Ukulele Cub is a fun-loving, ukulele-strumming, singing, and humming group of amateur musicians. Grab your uke and join John and Nick as they sing and strum the hits! Song sheets will be provided.
July 13, 1:30-3 p.m.: ALDRA ALDRA is a Somerville, MA-based performing and recording artist whose music draws influence from soul, R&B, and alternative pop. She captivates listeners with velvety tones, profound lyrics, and imagery to bring them on a journey through her life experiences.
July 27, 1:30-3 p.m.: Il Contrapposto Il Contrapposto is an early music ensemble and continuo team dedicated to traversing the more untrodden paths of 16th- and 17th-century European music. Performing on historical instruments, with historically informed performance practices, their varied and engaging live performances are a step back into the homes and courts of Renaissance Europe.
