7:30 PM: Manthei Keynote Address with Dr. Jerry Root
Lewis had a remarkable capacity for friendship. Why? Lewis once wrote, “There are no ordinary people. You never meet a mere mortal.” Lewis practiced what he preached. Everybody seemed to matter to him: from taxi drivers to BBC broadcasters; from academics to gardeners; from poets to barbers; Lewis had the capacity to make friends from all walks of life. What was it about the man that made this true of him? And of us? Dr. Jerry Root will discuss these questions and more during his Keynote Address. This event is free and open to the public; however, registration is required.
