JUNETEENTH LEGACY PROJECT
FEATURING STERLING STRINGS
February 24
4:30pm
As part of Black History Month, BRAC welcomes back the Juneteenth Legacy Project, who last performed in our event space during the Bronx River Sounds 2022 concert series. Their performance on Saturday, February 24th, starting at 4:30pm coincides with the opening of our new exhibition, Ingenuity: New York Photography & Entrepreneurship.
The Juneteenth Legacy Project (Juneteenth LP) is a musical collaborative based in NYC, whose mission is to share the music of the African Diaspora through the unique lens of Black classically trained musicians with a focus on access, outreach and community building through music. Continually pushing boundaries in their musical and lecture offerings, Juneteenth LP brings together unexpected classical music and brilliantly crafted arrangements of more popular repertoire for a refreshing take on live performances and educational music experiences.
During the preceding week, BRAC will also offer a series of collage art workshops with a focus on Black History as part of our Mid-Winter Break Art Camp, culminating with the Saturday workshop and pop-up artwork. Check our Eventbrite page to register for these classes.
