Sage succeeds Chad Tallon, who serves as Interim Artistic Director for the 2024 Tibbits Summer Theatre season. Currently directing "Rent", Sage brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished artistic vision that promises to enrich the theatre's legacy.
"My relationship with Tibbits Summer Theatre began in the summer of 1994 as an actor and has continued into the present day," said Brian Sage. "While this 30-year journey hasn't been consecutive, Tibbits has been my artistic anchor, shaping my aesthetic and fostering my growth as both actor and director."
Sage is a seasoned professional in the theatre industry, holding an MFA in Acting from Wayne State University and a BA in Theatre Performance from Western Michigan University. His career spans a diverse range of theatrical genres, from classical to contemporary musical theatre. Sage has earned acclaim at esteemed regional theatres such as Tipping Point Theatre and The Encore Musical Theatre Company, garnering multiple nominations for the prestigious Wilde Awards.
Christine Delaney, Executive Director at Tibbits Opera House, expressed enthusiasm about Sage's appointment, saying, "I am thrilled to welcome Brian as our Tibbits Summer Theatre Artistic Director.
