The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History proudly presents: Brave Heart: A Tribute to BG Joe Ramirez at the Miramont Country Club on Friday, January 13, 2023. The event will begin with cocktails at 6 pm, honoree arrival at 6:15 pm, followed by dinner at 7 pm.

Join us for an evening filled with great food, humorous and entertaining stories, music, and fun! It is a wonderful opportunity to thank Joe for all of the outstanding support he has given the Brazos Valley over the years. 

Reserved tables are currently sold out; individual tickets are $250 and are almost sold out. Guests may call the Museum and request to be placed on a waiting list. Cancellations do occur and seats will become available through January 13th.

Can’t attend, but want to honor Joe? Contributions to the Museum in his honor will be recognized at the event. 

Tickets are also on sale for a stunning Diamond Necklace with 1.45 ctw diamonds, 18K gold setting, 18 inch gold chain valued at $6000, donated by David Gardner’s Jewelers.

The drawing will take place at the Tribute on January 13. Attendance is not required to win. Tickets are $50 each or 5 for $200, and can be purchased online.

Brigadier General Joe Ramirez, Jr. is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Texas Aggie Band in the Corps of  Cadets and a Distinguished Military Graduate.

During his 31 years of military service, General Ramirez commanded soldiers around the world and served in leadership positions. He is the recipient of numerous medals and awards and the holder of two master’s degrees.

Prior to being named Vice President for Student Affairs at Texas A&M University, Joe served as the outstanding 45th Commandant of Cadets at Texas A&M from 2010-2021, growing it in numbers and diversity. 

His involvement in the Brazos Valley community is extensive, including serving on numerous boards such as The United Way of the Brazos Valley, The Salvation Army of Bryan/College Station, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas, The Texas Veterans Association, The Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra.

Joe and his wife Terry have 9 children and 7 grandchildren. They both enjoy traveling, listening to live music (R&B, Jazz, and classic rock are their favorites), sporting events, and spending time with their grandchildren.

Joe brings energy, commitment, and passion to all he does, and continues to inspire and lead others with his generous and brave heart.
