BOULDER, CO - BMoCA is pleased to announce the 5 architectural design teams that have been selected for the shortlist to envision and design the North Boulder Creative Campus with BMoCA and its partner Emerald Development. The Request for Qualifications was released on May 30, 2024, and the response was overwhelming, with highly qualified and diverse teams submitting applications. Each of these Design Teams demonstrate a commitment to creating exceptional civic spaces and an established involvement within our local community, and the museum is gratified to have the firms interested in the project.

The 5 teams who are invited to participate in the Request for Proposals (RFP) phase of the project are:

- Fernanda Canales x Tres Birds

- Johnston Marklee + Independent Architecture + BVH Architecture

- SO-ILCoburn + Dig Studio

- Tatiana Bilbao ESTUDIO + High, Low, Buffalo.

- Sasaki-Patkau Architects

BMoCA Executive Director David Dadone said “I am extremely excited to be working with such a thoughtful and collaborative selection team made up of staff, trustees, artists and architects. The team reviewed a large number of submittals from some of the best firms from all over the world and worked to identify the top 5 firms that will move to the next phase.”

BMoCA Board President Tomas Mendez stated “We were so blown away by the amazing number of qualified design teams that submitted their interest in this project. BMoCA is now set on the right path towards its future home. Any of these finalists have the experience to deliver a transformational project for North Boulder.”

The five teams on the shortlist will be invited to submit a Request for Proposal after  which three teams will be chosen for further interviews and a visit to Boulder to meet with BMoCA, and Emerald Development and other stakeholders. These visits will include presentations open to the community. Following those visits a team will be selected to move forward with the NoBo Creative Campus project.
