From: Boulder Museum Of Contemporary ArtBoulder, CO - Thursday evening, the Boulder City Council expressed broad support for the new BMoCA flagship facility as part of the ambitious redevelopment plan at 4401 Broadway that has been several years in the making. BMoCA is excited to receive this overwhelming support, so that the project can move into the next phase.
The site plan for the development in the North Boulder Art District includes 17,500 square feet of museum space, plus commercial space, retail space, residential units, open space and parking. The hearing served as an opportunity for the City Council to give feedback to City Staff on land use and zoning for the proposed project. Additionally, the meeting offered a platform for the City Council to share their feedback to both the developer and BMoCA.
Empowering Community Through Art.
BMoCA's intentionally designed facility in NoBo will be a place where artistic expression is celebrated and where the museum's ability to inspire creativity and foster community through contemporary art is amplified. The new facility will provide an environment which integrates thoughtfully into the fabric of the community, while retaining NoBo's authenticity and creative atmosphere.
"Mayor Aaron Brockett said the project had the potential to be 'transformational' for the northern part of Boulder." BMoCA looks forward to working with the city towards moving into the next stage of this exciting project in the North Boulder Arts District.
