The Darien YMCA and Abilis are excited to partner to launch a new Blooming Babies interactive six-week class for parents and caregivers and their babies! The classes, held at the Darien YMCA, 2420 Post Road, Darien, Connecticut, focus on supporting bonding, encouraging developmental milestones, and creating opportunities for movement, all in a nurturing and supportive environment. Blooming Babies runs for six weeks on Fridays, October 13 through November 17. Ages 0-12 months is from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., and ages 13-24 months is from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Registration is $275 and a spot can be secured by registering at abilis.us/calendar.

As a child and parent group, the classes offer a variety of topic discussions for parents and caregivers, while integrating music, infant massage, literature and play for the babies. Blooming Babies is led by Sharon Hoffner, PT, DPT, and Jennie Miklautsch, MEd, who run the Birth to Three programs at Abilis. Sharon has been working with children for 27+ years as a pediatric physical therapist, but started her career with a degree in dance and teaching movement classes. Jennie has been an early childhood educator for 27 years, working with infants and toddlers and their families for the past 24 years. Blooming Babies is open to everyone in the community with a baby in the 0-24 month age range.
