Billionaires Donald Trump And Elon Musk Feud As Congressional Republicans Cut Benefits For The Working Class

Government and Politics

June 5, 2025

On June 5, 2025, Donald Trump and Elon Musk got into a public dispute that started over Elon Musk instructing Senate Republicans to kill the “big, beautiful bill” over concerns that it would add $2.4 trillion to the national debt over the next decade. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the bill would leave 10.9 million more people uninsured if passed as is.

In response, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party released the following statement:

“While the Trump-Musk feud is entertaining, at the end of the day, today’s chaos essentially boils down to two billionaire narcissists fighting to see who can cut more government services that the working class rely on.

In contrast, Pennsylvania Democrats are providing solutions that actually help the working class. Since March, we have been publishing a social media series every Friday named “What Democrats in PA have been up to this week” in which we highlight Democratic accomplishments in the Governor’s office, the General Assembly, and Congress.

While Republicans are flailing and fighting each other, Pennsylvania Democrats are fighting for everyday Americans.”
