Things That Go Bump in the Night

Opening Reception:? Saturday, October 19, 3:00

Unexpected noises in the attic, ghostly sounds in the basement, a cold wind, an eerie flash of light: “things that go bump in the night” can set our hearts racing and our imaginations drifting to the supernatural. Share your perceptions of frightening or spooky or noisy things through this playful exhibit of mixed-media artwork about our vivid imaginings

Call for Artists: Creative Tombstone Submissions for Belmar Arts Center Graveyard Display

Belmar Arts Center invites artists to submit their most imaginative and artistic tombstone designs to help build a unique outdoor graveyard display at the Center. This exhibition aims to celebrate creativity and craftsmanship through the lens of memorial art. We encourage a range of styles, from the whimsical to the profound, reflecting the diverse ways we honor and remember.

This is a night of heart tugging and mind boggling original music. JM Cooks is one of the most entertaining performance personalities in the central New Jersey music scene. He never fails to engage audiences with humor, irony, and unexpected song structure. The music and lyrics of Alex Sanders are a subtle blend of high energy rock with delicate, ethereal folk.

A Tribute to the Music of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’

Movie Screening with Live Jam & Sing-along

Featuring Kevin Spyker & Friends

Saturday October 19th @ 7pm

Tickets: $15 ($10 for BAC members)

This month Kevin Spyker (guitar & vocals) along with members of the Belmar Arts Music Collective (horns, piano & percussion) will play along as we watch and sing to The Rocky Horror Picture Show — the 1975 independent musical comedy horror film featuring an epic ensemble cast including Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Charles Gray, even rock icon Meat Loaf! With over a dozen rousing songs throughout the film, this cult classic was a perfect choice for our October Monthly Tribute Series…

For nearly 50 years, enthusiastic audiences have been flocking to off-beat theaters to continue a wild and care-free tradition of viewing the film, mirrored by a troupe of actors with simple props and plenty of rowdy crowd participation (like throwing rice, popcorn and playing cards)… While we’ll be focusing on the soundtrack over theatrics, we do welcome our audience to join us in singing along and dancing The Time Warp together!
