The popularity and innovation of Fiber Arts are in full display on today’s Social Media sites. Renewed interest in traditional fiber arts like knitting, crocheting, and macrame emerged during the pandemic lockdowns. Recent societal issues have led fiber artists to channel their need to resist, to meditate or to conserve by way of protest art, the slow-stitch movement, mindful mending, assemblage, collage, or journaling in stitch. Luckily, we have a well-established, creative and active fiber/mixed-media community here at the BAC. We mounted a beautiful show in March 2020, which never opened due to the pandemic lockdown. We anticipate that we will have a three-year backlog of work on tap waiting to be displayed!

October 3, 10, 17, 24
Each class you will leave with a finished product or two. However, think about these sessions as creativity exercises. This workshop is good for the beginning artist, someone who doesn’t believe they are an artist, or even the most experienced artist. A prompt will be given each class and the goal will be to problem solve with a fresh perspective. Focus with be on shape and space with the ability to infuse your personal style.
