From: Beaches Museum and History ParkThe Beaches Museum held its joint Board Meeting on October 10. The meeting included members from the past and incoming year and reflected on the past year’s successes as well as the coming year’s projects, events, and programs.
New members welcomed to the board were Maggie Fitzroy, Allison Lauer, Brenda Smith, and Joanna Stachura. Outgoing members were recognized and were given the gift of a commemorative brick denoting their service to be installed at the Train Enclosure. Those members were “Doc” Renunart, Margie Horvath, Claudia Estes, and Bill Lynch.
Board members welcomed Greg Burghardt and Landscape Architect Kathleen Burson of Rockaway Sustainable Landscaping for a check presentation for a recent matching grant campaign. In total, $17,000 was raised to re-landscape around the Museum and the new sign that will be installed in early November.
The Executive Committee of the Board consists of Katie LeMaster and Leslee Burch, returning as President and Secretary, Heather McConville as the Vice President and Reid McCormick as the Treasurer. “We are so proud of the partnership between the Museum and Rockaway" said Board President Katie LeMaster. "This successful fundraising campaign was just one of the many great things that happened this past year and we are looking forward to another great year of programs, events, and sharing our community’s amazing history!”
