AYCO Chamber Music - Brings Joy of Music to Oak Tree Senior Living

Arts and Entertainment

June 3, 2025

From: American Music Institute

The American Youth Chamber Orchestra (AYCO) delighted residents at Oak Tree Senior Living with a heartwarming performance of live chamber music on Sunday, May 4. This special event was part of AYCO’s ongoing mission to share the power of live music with communities across the Chicago area while giving its young musicians meaningful performance experiences.

The concert featured young musicians from AYCO’s Spring Chamber Music Program, showcasing a beautifully curated program of classical works performed by small ensembles. The event included a flute and clarinet duo as well as a piano and two violins trio, captivating the audience with refined musicianship and heartfelt expression.

AUDITIONS are NOW open for the AYCO’s Fall ‘25 Chamber Music Program in Hinsdale, IL. It is a great opportunity for young musicians to play and create chamber music in duos, trios, quartets, etc, and be coached by some of Chicago’s premier musicians.  In addition to weekly rehearsals, students participate in concerts and community outreach events—such as the Oak Tree performance—which give them invaluable on-stage experience.
