From: LifeHouse TheaterOpen auditions for LifeHouse Theater’s presentation of the Broadway musical, “Fiddler on the Roof,” will be Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at LifeHouse Theater, 1135 N. Church Street, Redlands.
Auditions will be held by appointment and those auditioning must be at least 10 years of age. Roles are open for men and women. Men are especially encouraged to audition.
Appointments can be made online at the LifeHouse Theater website at https://lifehousetheater.com/upcoming-auditions/. Those auditioning are asked to upload a recent photo and a theatrical resume when making their audition appointment. Those without a theatrical resume can list any performing experience they may have had, though none is required to audition. Appointments can be made the night of auditions as space permits.
Auditioners should also bring their own sheet music in the preferred key, and be prepared to sing a short selection of about 16 measures. A pianist will be provided but will not be able to transpose any sheet music. Auditions with CDs will not be accepted. Those without sheet music will be asked to sing “Happy Birthday” with the accompanist.
“Fiddler on the Roof” opens Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 7:00 PM and will continue on weekends through May 12, 2024. Performances are Fridays at 7:00 PM, Saturdays at 2:00 PM (except Opening Night) and 7:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM. In addition to the weekend performances, there will be a special weekday performance at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
Winner of nine Tony Awards, “Fiddler on the Roof” has touched audiences worldwide with its humor, warmth and honesty. This tale of Tevye the Dairyman and his family’s struggles in a changing Russia is a true musical theatre tradition!
“Fiddler on the Roof” will be directed by Jana Smith with choreography by Michael Milligan, music direction by Nolan Livesay and costuming by Beth Derry.

LIST OF ROLES AVAILABLE:
Tevye – (Age: 45-60) The likeable, hard-working, pious dairyman who always tries to see the positive side of life. He is a proud patriarch and father of five daughters, closely raised according to the old scriptures.

Golde - (Age: 40-50) Tevye's strong-willed wife who wishes for her daughters to have good husbands and live easier than she and Tevye.

Tzeitel - (Age: 18-25) Tevye's eldest daughter, who is madly in love with Motel. She is loyal to her family but typically challenges the town's traditions.

Hodel - (Age: 18-23) Tevye's second eldest daughter, who becomes involved with
Perchik. She eventually leaves Anatevka to join Perchik in Siberia.

Chava - (Age: 15-20) Tevye's middle daughter who loves to read. Falls in love and runs off with Fydeka, a Russian soldier.

Shprintze - (Age: 9-13) Tevye's fouth eldest daughter who takes lessons at home from Perchik.

Bielke - (Age: 8-12) Tevye's youngest daughter. Takes lessons at home from Perchik.

Yente - (Age: 50-60) The meddling matchmaker. She is a widow and village busybody who knows all of the town gossip.

Motel - (Age: 18-25) The poor and meek tailor who shares a deep love with Tzeitel. Sensitive and nervous, but sincere and friendly.

Perchik - (Age: 20-30) The outspoken student and visitor to Anatevka, who constantly challenges the traditions of the town. He eventually falls in love with Hodel.

Lazar Wolf - (Age: 40-50) The feisty, brawny butcher and the town's wealthiest citizen who wishes to marry Tzeitel.

Avram - (Age: 40-60) Runs the local bookshop and keeps the town advised of all the news in the area.

Grandma Tzeitel - (Age: 60-75) Golde's deceased grandmother, who endorses the marriage between Tzeitel and Motel.

Fruma-sarah - (Age: 35-45) Lazar's Wolf's deceased first wife. She becomes enraged when her husband plans to wed Tzeitel.

Constable - (Age: 35-45) Russian military official stationed near Anatevka who knows the villagers well, however he has superficial relationships with the villagers.
Fyedka - (Age: 20-25) A strong, young Russian soldier who sees past his military obligations and falls in love with Chava. He challenges Tevye's imposed silence.
