BKCFest will host a marketplace of independent comics creators, spotlighting local authors and illustrators whose work ranges from hand-crafted zines to published graphic novels. Programming also includes hands-on workshops as well as opportunities to draw with our exhibitors and creators. BKCFest will take place at Northeastern University.

Hello Ashland families!
Happy start of Summer Reading! We have many exciting events coming up this June, so read on for more info about those, as well as some book recommendations and articles to check out.
Join the Summer Reading Program this summer! Pick up a reading log to keep track of how much you read and earn up to 10 Prize Books at the end of the summer. Read anything you like! Everything you read counts for your reading log. The Summer Reading program will begin on June 20th and end on August 19th. More details coming soon!
The Friends of the Library will be hosting their full-day book sale this month on Saturday, June 10 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Drop by to find some great books!
The library will be closed on Monday, June 19 for Juneteenth.

One Time Programs

Saturday, June 17 from
10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
For ages 2-5
Little rubber ducks will be hidden around the Children's Room and kids will hunt for them until all the ducks have been found!
The ducks will remain at the Library. Each child may be limited on the number of ducks they are allowed to find to make it equitable to all participants.
Summer Reading
We can't wait for Summer Reading! Once school is out, a few of our programs will be changing times and we will have a few new programs as well.
Kick off Event
Saturday, June 24 from
10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
For ages 3-8 (but all are welcome)
The Pineapple Project is a theater piece that encourages the audience to be themselves while accepting others, and validates each child's individual freedom to be who they are, without gender bias. The performance is funny, engaging and empowering.

Story and Craft
Starting June 26,
Monday Story and Craft will switch to Wednesday at 3:30.
Friday Story and Craft will switch to Friday at 3:30.
For ages 4-8
Each week we will read a story and do a related craft project. For Pre-K through early elementary. Mondays and Fridays will have the same craft.
Ashland Moms -- Little Crafters
Little Crafters will not be meeting over the summer
Project ABC Play Group
Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m.
Project ABC Play Group will have their last meeting on June 20.
For ages 0-5
Come explore and learn to play with your little one to stimulate their growth and development. This structured program helps prepare children for socialization and a school experience.
Lapsit
Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
For ages 0-4
Join Miss Lois for a story time full of songs and fingerplays. Check out the songs performed by Miss Lois here!
PJ Storytime
Tuesday, June 6 and 20
at 5:30 p.m.
PJ Storytime will be on hiatus over the summer-- teacher tales will be held instead!
For ages 3 and up
Come in your pajamas, and bring your favorite stuffed animals! We will read stories about a different one of Ryan's stuffed animals every week.
Thursday, June 8 and 22
at 6:00 p.m.
Starting July 8
Read-to-a-Dog will switch to every other Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
For kids who are reading
Children will have the chance to read to one of our corgi friends - Knives or Machete. Both are registered therapy dogs.
Thursday, June 1, 15, and 29
at 4:00 p.m.
For ages 5 and up
Each child will be given a box filled with an assortment of Lego blocks to build a creation using only what's inside the box. Creations will be displayed.
Saturday Morning Storytime
Saturday, June 3 and 10
at 10:30 a.m.
For ages 3 and up
On Saturdays without other morning programs, come listen to Ryan read some of his favorite stories aloud.
Crafty Saturday
Saturdays all day
For ages 4 and up
Join us for a different drop in craft project every week.
