One Time Programs

Teddy Bear Emergency
Friday, August 11 from
10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Ages 0-5

Does your Teddy have a “boo-boo”? Kids will bring their stuffed animals to visit the Ashland EMTs. Climb aboard a real ambulance and see fire trucks.

This program will be held at the Corner Spot.

Author Visit with Carrie Finison

Tuesday, August 15 from
2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
 
Author Carrie Finison will read her picture book Dozens of Doughnuts, followed by a Q & A session. Kids will then meet LouAnn the bear from the story (a large stuffed animal) and make a doughnut craft activity.

Zero Waste Kids: Birthdays, Lunches, and More with Sarah Robertson-Barnes

For parents, kids are welcome
 
We'll dig into practical tips to make your children's birthday parties and school lunches eco-friendly and low waste. We'll also be discussing how kids, families, and communities can be more sustainable as towns, cities, and states move towards free lunches for all.

Each week we will read a story and do a related craft project. Wednesdays and Fridays will have the same craft.

STEM Thursdays

Thursdays at 4:00 p.m.

For ages 5-9

Alternates between:

Lego Club

Your challenge is to build a creation using only what's inside a box full of Legos. Finished creations will be displayed in the Children’s Room for a few weeks. (Held every other week)

10-Min Creation Station

As the timer counts down, kids will have 10 minutes to create something using only the materials in their mystery  box. Everyone will have a chance to build with at least 4-5 different boxes.

Engineering Exploration

Each session kids will build a different engineering-based project as a group.  Projects this summer include a suspension bridge and a free-standing arch.

Read to a Dog

Saturday, August 5 at 1:30 p.m.

For kids who are reading
 
Children will have the chance to read to one of our corgi friends - Knives or Machete. Both are registered therapy dogs.

The Scroll of Chaos
