We got together to build our very own Oliver K. Woodman models in an Engineering Exploration in January! We all had a ton of fun, and there will be many more fun programs to come.

Hello Ashland families!

I hope you've had a wonderful start to your 2023. We have many exciting events coming up this February, so read on for more info about those, as well as some book recommendations and articles to check out.

If you're curious (like we were) about what children's books at Ashland were the MOST popular in 2022, we compiled a list for you to check out. That list can be found here.

The Friends of the Library will be hosting their Mini Book Sales on the first Saturday of the month, February 4, from 10:00-1:00. Why not stop by and pick up some great books?

The library will be closed on Monday, February 20 for Presidents' Day.

Gilbert the Party Pig

Saturday, February 4 from
10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
For all ages

A visit from a great big pig. Gilbert will do tricks, get pets, pose for photos and kids will be able to feed him treats (and maybe give him a kiss!).

DAET: Book Discussion for Parents & Children with Author Rachel Brian

Wednesday, February 8 from

Read: Consent (For Kids!): Boundaries, Respect, and Being in Charge of You

After the book read, the kids will go to another room to make a craft while the parents continue discussing the material from the book.

Pokémon Day

Fun for the whole family! There will be activities all day long, including games, movies, photo ops with big cardboard Pokémon, and crafts.

Tuesday, February 21

Introduction to Shark Biology
from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
For Grades K-4

Kids will assemble life-size puzzles of juvenile and adult white sharks and learn about how sharks grow and change from juvenile to adult.

Learning the Facts about Sharks
from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
For Grades 5-8

Kids will go through a series of true and false statements to address some of the common misconceptions about sharks. 

Family Movie: The Bad Guys
