April brings "City Lights...City Sights" to the Artworks@7 Gallery located in North Beach, MD. Wayne Thomas, a photographer at the Gallery, will share his love for travel, people watching and street photography in this month's show. Like many photographers, he tends to see the world through prisms of light and the lens of a camera.

Wayne has captured the sights and lights that sometimes go unnoticed in the daily lives of city dwellers or by the folks who visit, like The Memorial Bridge in Washington, DC/Arlington, VA and Wisconsin and M Street, one of the busiest intersections in Washington, D.C. He has also included familiar scenes and locales in a manner that lets the observer see them again, with fresh eyes, or recall memories of previous experiences in a familiar place.  

Wayne believes cities are a combination of beauty and grit. In this show he shows that beauty and grit coexist and that art, entertainment, and culture are all valuable elements of city life.

Our Guest artist this month is Terri Schaffer. She has had a passion for photography for years and continues to learn from professionals in the field. Her newest venture is creating images by digitally creating skies and water and adding them to her landscapes.

Please join us at the opening reception on Saturday, April 1, 1- 4 PM where you’ll have a chance to meet the artists; light refreshments will be served. If you can't make the reception, visit the gallery any time during the month to see art from local artists.
