From: Art Museum Of Southeast Texas“Don’t Mess with Texas, Mess with Art” at AMSET’s next Family Arts Day
Beaumont, TX - The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) will present its popular Free Family Arts Day on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join us in celebrating the start of the school year with a creative day of art activities along with two live performances from Gator Country!
- Children and their families are encouraged to explore the museum and to “Don’t Mess with Texas, Mess with Art” by creating artwork with recycled materials. Art activities are inspired by AMSET’s current exhibitions, Conversations & Connections and Summer Days: selections from the permanent collection on view through September 10, 2023. Activities include paper airplanes, Felix “Fox” Harris sculptures, popsicle stick art, temporary tattoos, recycled achi board game, and plastic flowers!
- Complimentary cookies and punch will be provided. A concession stand selling ballpark-style food will also be available. There will be two live performances from Gator Country at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the Quinn Lecture Hall. Throughout the day, AMSET will draw raffle winners for backpacks of school supplies. In partnership with the Lamar University Green Squad, AMSET will be collecting empty plastic bottles and soda cans for recycling.
- Admission to this event is free and open to the public and all materials are provided. For more information, visit amset.org or call (409) 832-3432.
