From: The Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts and Cultural Center“Anything Goes” is a local trio who love entertaining and enjoy sharing tales and tunes. Steve Azzaro and Marian Bairstow have been singing together for six years and enjoy performing a wide variety of selections, from folk, to classic American songbook tunes, and original songs. Steve has played folk guitar for many years. He was influenced by country and western music as well as folk music of the Weavers, Kingston Trio and other singer songwriters of the 60's and 70's. He is the lead singer in his barbershop quartet, FIREAWAY, and has performed with the Greater Middletown Chorale.
Marian’s musical experience involved singing in ensembles. She has sung with Cappella Cantorum, various church choirs, and most recently, Shoreline Gospel.
Bass player Bob Lee joined the group last year and has added a wonderful creative bass to the group’s sound. Bob, living in Connecticut now performed many years with bands in the Los Angeles area.
Performances at Masonicare and Wayfinder’s in Chester are monthly and well received. The trio have performed one of Steve’s original songs, “Slava Svoboda Ukraine” at a special concert of the Wallingford Symphony in 2023.
