From: Irish Arts CenterIrish Arts Center Spring 2024 Season
Our new season features major new works spanning theatre, dance, performance, literature, visual arts, and more, including the high stakes political drama of Owen McCafferty's Agreement, from the Lyric Theatre, Belfast, chronicling the final days of negotiations of the Good Friday/Belfast Agreement; an acclaimed new piece, What We Hold, from the iconic dancer and choreographer Jean Butler; the long awaited return to New York from internationally renowned singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan; an evening with writer Claire Keegan; a large-scale exhibition of abstract art from Diana Copperwhite, Erin Lawlor, Helen O'Leary, and Dannielle Tegeder; and much more.
We also announce another milestone for the new Irish Arts Center: the dedication of our flexible theatre as the JL Greene Theatre at Irish Arts Center, in consideration of a $3 million gift from the JL Greene Foundation, commencing in April with our five-week presentation of Agreement. With this grant, IAC joins a roster of some of New York’s most prestigious cultural institutions supported by the Foundation, including BAM, the Public Theater, Lincoln Center Theatre, and the Whitney Museum.
