Hurricane Isabel

20th Anniversary

Hurricane Isabel made landfall in eastern North Carolina on September 18th, 2003 as a category 2 hurricane. Due to this hurricane's vastness, its damaging effects were felt across the Chesapeake and Potomac areas.

We want to thank Everyone who was involved in the rebuilding of not only our property, but our AMM community. Special thanks to Peg Wallace, Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Annapolis Maritime Museum.

Schooner Race Watch Party

The Whittington Collection

The photographs in the collection were taken by David Sterling Whittington and donated to the Annapolis Maritime Museum by his nephew Alan Coleman. 

They feature the Annapolis Yacht Yard during the 1940s, PT boats built for WWII, and other maritime scenery of the Annapolis area.

Local Development Council

Award Announcement

Last Thursday, September 14th, the Annapolis Maritime Museum was awarded $40,000 from the Arundel Community Development Services (ACDS) Local Development Council (LDC) at the Maryland Live! Casino and Hotel. This grant will help fund AMM’s Box of Rain and Oyster Education Programs! 

With this funding we serve over 550 students from Meade & MacArthur Middle Schools with hands-on, enriching environmental and maritime education experiences. We are incredibly grateful for this ongoing support and investment in these life-changing programs!
