September 12, 2025
Every September, we at the American Red Cross recognize National Preparedness Month - a moment to educate and empower our neighbors to be ready whenever an emergency strikes.
This month, we encourage you to participate by building an emergency plan with your family and preparing the supplies you’ll need. You can learn more about that here.
In addition to supporting preparedness, we work around the clock to provide critical assistance wherever and whenever an emergency strikes. And more than 25,000 people depend on our support every single day.
If you’re able, please make a gift in honor of National Preparedness Month to help us stay prepared and ready to respond to emergencies of all types.

Bring a friend to give blood with you and they’ll get a tee, too. Happy dance for helping save even more lives! Maybe you’ll get the same design or something different (how fun!). Either way, you don’t want to miss out on being part of this coveted collab. Schedule now!

We are inviting you to join a special group of supporters we call Red Cross Champions! When you give a monthly gift, your charitable giving is at work around the clock helping the Red Cross prepare and respond at a moment’s notice - no further action required.
"My story is simple. As I see and hear of disasters near and far, I also see the Red Cross there as well. It is a joy to be able to help through a modest monthly contribution. Thank you, Red Cross, for all you do!" - Yvonne, Red Cross Champion

September is National Preparedness Month, an important time to empower people and communities with the knowledge and resources they need to prepare for and recover from emergencies.
Here at the American Red Cross, we spend a great deal of time educating families in emergency preparedness. Taking some simple steps today - like making a plan, packing emergency kits and connecting devices to emergency alerts - can truly make a lifesaving difference when an emergency does arrive.
Just as families prepare, the Red Cross must also stay ready to respond to disasters and emergencies of all types at a moment’s notice. This means having strong plans in place, and keeping our shelves stocked and our staff and volunteers trained. Of course, these vital efforts are only made possible by the generosity of supporters like you.
If you’re able, please consider making a gift this month to help us respond to emergencies nationwide and support families to prepare for their most challenging moments.
As always, thank you for being a vital part of our Red Cross community.
