When we say the Red Cross can’t carry forward our work without you, we mean it. Every aspect of our mission is made possible by the dedication and generosity of our volunteers, blood donors and financial supporters. In addition to expressing my appreciation, I want to share a few ways you can continue to support our vital efforts this month.

- First, if you’re able, please consider donating blood or platelets to help save lives. The Red Cross provides around 40% of our nation’s blood and blood components. But supply can’t always meet demand because only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly. Each donation helps us meet patient needs.

- Second, please consider signing an electronic Valentine’s Day card for our volunteers to thank them for their remarkable work. Volunteers make up 90% of our Red Cross team, and your signature and kind words could mean the world to those who go above and beyond to help families in need.
