Gettysburg, PA –All are invited to attend the Adams County Arts Council’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Arts Education Center (AEC), 125 S. Washington Street, Gettysburg. The celebratory meeting will feature food, wine, the unveiling of the community collaboration art piece from The People Project 2022, coordinated by ACAC stained glass instructor Christian Parker, a video re-cap of the October 2022 People Project performance event, and a new collaborative art work, to which meeting attendees can add their own flourish. Popular ACAC instructor Elsie Shackleton has sketched a drawing of a large tree on canvas, and visitors to the AEC will be invited to add their brushstrokes to the piece at the meeting. “I put the idea out to the artist community, and we thought a tree was a lovely symbol of the ‘family of Adams County,’ says Shackleton. ACAC Executive Director Lisa Cadigan added, “A primary goal for the Arts Council is to engage the community not only as educated consumers who appreciate the arts, but also as active participants in the creative process. The arts are such an important way for us to connect with friends, families, and our greater community.”
The Annual Meeting will also include presentations of the 2022 Applause Awards winners, introductions of the 2023 Board of Directors and Officers, introductions of the staff, and a re-cap of events and accomplishments in 2022. There is no cost for admission, however, ACAC kindly requests an RSVP by March 2. RSVP at www.adamsarts.org/annual-meeting, by email to [email protected], or by calling 717-334-5006.
The mission of the Adams County Arts Council is to cultivate an arts-rich community.
