From: Adams County Arts CouncilThe Adams County Arts Council (ACAC) is thrilled to announce the 20th anniversary of the Annual Juried Art Exhibition. This premiere show not only features work from Adams County and South-central Pennsylvania’s best artists, but also draws entries from across the United States to be considered for awards ranging from $200 to $1,000.
The exhibition will take place at the Schmucker Art Gallery at Gettysburg College from June 1-June 21. Pieces will be selected for the show by juror Jessica Ambler, PhD, who serves as director of the Martin Art Gallery at Muhlenberg College.
Dr. Ambler received her Ph.D. in art history from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She has over a decade of experience in the art world including work in a museum, auction house, and at numerous universities. She was Head of Research for Sandy Heller at The Heller Group, an art advisory in New York City specializing in modern and contemporary art, and Curator + Artist Relations for Loupe, Inc., an art streaming platform. She is a qualified appraiser and an Accredited Member of the Appraisers Association of America. She is also a mayoral appointed member of the Allentown Arts Commission, on the Advisory Council for the Lehigh Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance, an Executive Committee member of the Museum and Library Alliance of the Lehigh Valley, and serves on the Communications Committee for the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries. ACAC is thrilled to welcome her as juror for this flagship event.
The deadline for artist entries has been extended to Friday, March 22, and submission requirements can be found on the ACAC website. Awards will be presented on Saturday, June 8 at Schmucker Gallery, followed by a “Toast the Artists” celebration in the Atrium on Gettysburg College’s campus.
