From: Irish Arts CenterCall it “Giving Back” Wednesday: With gratitude to you all—our amazing audiences and supporters who have made this opening season in our new home such a success—and in anticipation of our 2023 program to be revealed in full in January, today we are announcing three projects coming up in the new year.
We will kick off February 10–11 with a double-bill of stellar contemporary folk artists: Dani Larkin, “a rising star on the Irish contemporary and alt folk scene” (Irish Times) from the Armagh-Monaghan border making her NYC debut, along with New York favorites the Murphy Beds and Liz Hanley. Dani also joins us for the return of our family-friendly Imbolc concert in celebration of St. Brigid’s Day.
Later in the month, we present the North American premiere of Conversations After Sex by Mark O’Halloran, the Irish Times Theatre Awards' Best New Play of 2022 from THISISPOPBABY.
In the meantime, as the holidays approach, we invite you to step away from the hustle and bustle this weekend and immerse yourself in our 13th annual PoetryFest featuring top poets from Ireland and North America. We can’t wait to rekindle this wonderful IAC tradition in our new home and hope you'll join us—there are still a few seats left for our much beloved Favorite Poems celebration that opens the festival on Friday.
Tickets go on sale for IAC members today, and to everyone else on Friday. See below for more information, and stay tuned for more to come in 2023. We’re still only getting started!
