Step back in time and experience the most glamorous decade of all: the roaring twenties!  Immerse yourself in the sparkling decadence of the jazz age, where flappers danced the night away and speakeasies reigned.  

We'll pay homage to the era of Gatsby, Mobsters, and Prohibition by raising a (perfectly legal) glass as we ring in the new year!  The recently-renovated but still classic interior of the Metropolitan Ballroom creates the perfect backdrop for this glittering affair and it will most certainly be a night for the history books.

Live entertainment includes aerialists, burlesque performances, flappers on stilts, professional ballroom dancers and more from renowned Dragonsfire Theater.

We'll be featuring the vintage vocal stylings of singer Mia Dorr before moving into dance hits of the 20's and 30's.  As we get closer to midnight, our featured DJ and fan-favorite Brownie will be spinning a mix of top 40, electro-swing, dance, disco, old school, and house as we ring in the new year.

Doors for this event will open at 7:00 for VIP guests, who are invited to enter through an exclusive VIP entrance with expedited check-in and complimentary coat check. From 7:00-8:30, VIP guests will be greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne. General Admission guests are invited to start their evening at 8:00.

Located just 5 minutes outside of downtown Minneapolis, the award-winning Metropolitan Ballroom has been newly renovated in the fall of 2019. This stunning reimagining brightened the space, adding new flooring, beautiful light fixtures, and a magnificent, custom glass chandelier over the dance floor while still retaining its classic elegance and nods to the past.  “My design inspiration for this project was every classic Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dance scene” says D’Amico and Partners’ founding partner and venue designer Richard D’Amico. With free on-site parking, the Metropolitan is an exquisite choice to ring in the new year and we are thrilled to present our 2023 bash at this elegant venue.

About our Vocalist: Mia Dorr has been a singer in the Twin Cities music scene for over 20 years. She is currently a member of the vocal group YOLO, her powerfully entertaining duo with DiDi in The Mia Dorr Show. Mia has competed in 3 national vocal competitions where she placed first and 2 national vocal competitions where she placed second. She released a cover album in 2007 and her first original album in 2012.

About the DJ's: Eric Arcilla, aka Brownie, has held DJ residencies and guest DJ’d at a number of popular nightclubs in the Twin Cities for well over a decade. Currently hosting two residencies (Including The Loop Minneapolis), Brownie consistently draws patrons with his open-format style that keeps the dancefloor going. Along with his local resumé, he has DJ’d for numerous national events including the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, Monster Energy 4th of July Mission Beach, and various Coca-Cola events across the US including the Coca-Cola Beach Spring Break (South Padre Island, TX). “You have to keep the whole room entertained. Their energy can be dictated by how well a DJ can read a crowd. It can sometimes be a challenge, but when it works, that synergy between DJ and dancefloor is what makes me love what I do.”
