From: Hermann Wine and Jazz FestivalThe 2023 Hermann Wine and Jazz Festival will take place in the heart of historic downtown Hermann, MO. There will be 4 bands performing as well as local wine vendors and concessions!
Line Up Schedule:
2:00 PM: Sodexo All Stars
St. Louis, MO finest young jazz musicians assemble to create the Sodexo All Stars. The ensemble met during their time together in the jazz department at the University of Missouri – St. Louis under the direction of legendary Jim Widner. Since they met in college, members of the band have played with some of the finest names in jazz, most notably Wayne Bergeron, Jon Faddis, Terrell Stafford, Wycliffe Gordon, and Eric Marienthal. The group has played in many countries, including China, Italy, and France.
4:00 PM: MAC Kicks Big Band
The MAC Kicks Band was formed in 1978, by Mr. Mike O’Brien, at that time the chair of the Mineral Area College Music Department. The group was originally established as a non-performing opportunity for area directors and community members to continue playing their instruments. In the early 1980’s, the band began to perform publicly and became the house band for the Mineral Area College Jazz Festival.
Over the past 43 years the Kicks Band has performed with Clark Terry, Louis Bellson, Bill Watrous, Phil Woods, Doc Severinsen, Jeff Hamilton, Wayne Bergeron, Steve Wiest, Jon Faddis, Delfeayo Marsalis, Joey DeFrancesco, Denis DiBlasio, Byron Stripling, Larry Coryell, New York Voices, Lou Marini, Bobby Shew, Reggie Thomas and Kim Park among others.
Past directors of the Kicks Band include Mr. Michael O’Brien, Mr. Dan Stecker, Mr. Scott Harris, and Mr. Dan Schunks. Currently, Mr. Austin Sikes was named director for the starting fall of 2023.
6:00 PM: Friends of Aaron
Bandleader Aaron Bounds is a native of Hermann, Missouri who now resides in Washington while teaching instrumental music at East Central College in Union. In 2013, the Patrons of the Arts at ECC asked Aaron to put together a band for a fundraiser at the college. He called a handful of local friends and colleagues and created “Friends of Aaron” for what was supposed to be one concert. Calls from local restaurants and wineries quickly followed, and they realized they were on to something unique in their area. Since then, there have been dozens of members in and out with the 10 piece jazz ensemble. Playing both instrumental jazz as well as vocal crooner songs and everything from Ella Fitzgerald to Cannonball Adderley, their vast repertoire covers many styles and genres. 8:00 PM: Headlining: The Funky **** Brass Band
“The Funky **** Brass Band was formed in 2008 by six talented musicians who respect and revere the New Orleans brass band tradition. The FBBB takes classic New Orleans brass tunes and gives them a twist, in the style of Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Rebirth and Bonerama. But don’t be surprised if you also hear some Motown, Southern rock, Memphis soul, Chicago blues and St. Louis R&B in the mix. The band has been voted Best Funk/Soul Band at the Riverfront Times Music Awards for four of the past five years. They have played such prestigious festivals as the King Biscuit Blues Festival, Roots N Blues N BBQ, Blissfest, Taste of St. Louis, Columbus Jazz & Rib Fest, Gumbo Ya Ya and the Big Muddy Blues Festival. And Funky **** Brass Band has shared the stage with some legendary Louisiana artists, including Dr. John, Rebirth Brass Band, Bonerama, Chubby Carrier, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, New Orleans Suspects and the Royal Southern Brotherhood.”
Musicians are: Adam Hucke (trumpet, vocals), Bryan Fritz (saxophone, vocals), Aaron Chanler (trombone, vocals), Ron Sikes (drums), Tim Halpin (guitar, vocals), Cody Henry (sousaphone).

Pop-up tents are allowed, but they may NOT be staked into the ground. EZ Up Tents are allowed. EZ Up Tent should be no larger than 10’x10′ and can only be used along the perimeter of the amphitheater grounds in order to prevent the blockage of patrons’ view. Usage is first-come, first-served.
Pets are allowed on leashes.
