From: Huntington Heritage DaysThe 59th Annual Huntington Heritage Days will be June 14-18, 2023. This year's theme is "Huntington at 175 years" in honor of the city's Demisemiseptcentennial!
Come celebrate with us! You'll find exciting activities and events including carnival rides, hot-air balloon launches at HNHS, hot air balloon festival, two car shows, kids' zone, entertainment, sporting competitions, 5K, parade, JeFFFest art festival and tons more!

Wednesday, June 14, 2023
7:00pm: Little Miss & Junior Miss Heritage Days Pageant
Huntington County girls ages 5 to 12 will compete for the title of Little Miss or Junior Miss Heritage Days. Contestants are judged on personality, photogenic and modeling. Tickets are $5 (3 & under are free) and may be obtained from contestants and at the door.
5:00pm - 10:00pm: Poor Jack Amusements
Amusement rides and games for the entire family. Height restrictions on some rides. Located on Cherry Street and around the city building.
Location: Crestview Middle School.
Ticket prices: $1.50 each, or 20 for $25.

8:00am: 54th Chief of the Flint Springs Tribe Breakfast
Location: Historic Forks of the Wabash, 3011 W. Park Drive. Chief Richardville Room. Reservations are required. Call the Chamber at (260) 356-5300 by Wednesday, June 7. Cost: $25 per person.
5:00pm - 7:00pm: Rotary Strawberry Feed
Location: Huntington County Fairgrounds 631 E. Taylor St. Beacon Credit Union Heritage Hall
Tickets: $6, kids five and under are free. Tickets available at local banks and from Rotarians. All you can eat strawberries, shortcake, ice cream and whipped cream. Family-friendly event.
7:00pm: Huntington Erie Community Band Concert
Location: Rotary Centennial Park. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a concert by Erie Community Band, including Erie Band, Club Saxes, Jazz Ensemble and Lime City Brass.

10:00am - 4:00pm: Quilt Show
Location: Huntington County Historical Museum. Peacemakers Quilt Club will host a quilt show at the museum on Friday & Saturday from 10a.m. - 4pm Sunday 12 to 4pm Free entry, freewill donation accepted.
4:00pm - 11:00pm: Poor Jack amusements

5:00pm - 9:00pm: Heritage Days Car, Truck & Bike Show
Registration open from 3 to 6:30pm Participants enter at intersection of Jefferson & Park Drive. Show 5 to 9pm, awards 8:30pm dash plaques and goody bags for the first 75 cars. Top 25 Awards, 6 -‘Best of’ Awards; family-friendly, local restaurants are open & food trucks will be on site. Car show is open to all makes, models and years.

Location: Rotary Centennial Park. Cost: Free
5:15pm: Junior Achievement (JA) 4th Annual Duck Race
Junior Achievement Serving Huntington County; Ducks will enter the river at the Jefferson Street Bridge and travel to a designated finish line.
The first three ducks to cross the finish line will win cash prizes; 1st: $1,000, 2nd: $250, 3rd: $100. Ducks must be purchased in advance and winners donot need to be present to win.

9:00am - 4:00pm: Ranch Horse and Pleasure Show
Location: Chief LaFontaine Saddle Club, 792 N 200 W. Come see the best horses Northeast Indiana has to offer at the historic Chief LaFontaine Saddle Club just south of Huntington. Free admission, food available for purchase.
9:30am: Running Towards Great Futures 5K
Join us in “Running Toward Great Futures” for thehigh school teens Keystone Club. Runners will start at Huntington University and be celebrated at the Boys & Girls Club. Fee is $15 through June 10. After June 10, $20.

Parade begins at the corner of N. Jefferson and MacGahan Streets, south on Jefferson, straight through downtown. DUE TO JEFFERSON STREET CONSTRUCTION, parade route ends at Jefferson & State Streets. Judges and commentators will be located at Rotary Centennial Park.

Held on south side of Huntington North High School, 450 MacGahan Street (Register & enter from MacGahan Street). Entry fee $15. Registration 2 to 5 pm Dash plaques for first 100 registered, door prizes given out at registration. Awards presented at 8 pm, with DJ Dick Smart of Smart Productions. 5:00pm: Pulling for Riley – Kiddie Tractor Pull
Location: Kids Zone, Huntington North High School Registration/weigh-in at 4:30 pm Tractor Pull will begin at 5 pm Four weight classes for boys and girls: up to 44 lbs., 45-59 lbs., 60-74 lbs. and 75-100 lbs. Awards given for top three in each class. No fee to enter, accepting donations to Riley Childrens Hospital; children must have an adult present to participate.

Location: Kids Zone, Huntington North Hight School Truitt Law Office will offer free bike helmets to the first 200 kids to visit the booth during Kids Zone. Participants can also register to win a brand new child’s bicycle. Available while helmets last.
5:00pm - 8:00pm: ‘Colts in Motion’
The Indianapolis Colts’ ‘Colts in Motion’ museum on wheels will be a part of the Heritage Days celebration on Saturday, June 17 from 5 to 8 pm Kids and their parents can visit the museum and participate in the activities including photos at Huntington North High School as part of the Kids Zone. This event is free and sponsored by ProFed. Credit Union.
5:00pm - 10:00pm: Hot Air Balloon Festival
Location: Huntington North High School. Local emergency vehicles. This year we will have morefood vendors than in the past offering hot dogs, hamburg-ers , tacos, BBQ items, sundaes, cotton candy and more. Joy Pleaser Clowns will make balloon designs. Walk in- side an inflated balloon. Paramotors are planning to par-ticipate in this year’s festival - weather permitting. Announcing the event will be DJ Dick Smart of Smart Productions.

Location: Huntington North High School. Free pony rides sponsored by Novae Corporation. Colts in Motion sponsored by ProFed Credit Union, bounce houses sponsored by Juergens Do-It Center, Christian Life Tabernacle, Casey’s General Store and Helena Agri-Chemical, games provided by HCTPL. 1:00pm - 5:00pm: “Bear Hunt”
Cost: $5. Ages: babies to young adults. The Izaak Walton Huntington Chapter is hosting their annual Teddy Bear Hunt. Families can purchase a hunting license for $5 to allow each hunter to search the trails for teddy bears that need adopted to a good home. The hunting license also includes a meal of a hot dog, chips, drink, & gummy bears. A DNR officer will be present to help kids fill out their hunting licenses. Smokey the Bear will be on site with firefighters to help young hunters locate the teddy bears. The JROTC will conduct a bear crawl competition. The event will include face painting, temporary tattoos, coloring pages, a bounce house, archery and more.
5:30pm - 8:30pm: JeFFFest
Location: Huntington Arts & Entrepreneurial Center, 32 E. Franklin Street (HAEC). JeFFFest is a free to attend event featuring fabulous music, fun food and fine art. The Todd Harrold Trio, once again will provide musical entertainment and sponsored by Jeremy Garner - Realtor. Food tickets will be sold in $1 increments to be used for purchasing food items at the local food fair. A small canvas silent auction will be held
at the Arts Included Gallery at the HAEC. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. on June 18 and early bird bidding starts on June 14 during gallery hours at the HAEC. Purchase your blank canvas for $5 beginning May 4. Canvas’s may be purchased at HAEC, 32 E. Franklin St. or the Ame-
thyst Lotus, 35 W. Market St. during normal business hours. Create and return your masterpiece to either location by June 16.
6:00pm - 8:30pm: S’mores & Chores
The Izaak Walton Huntington Chapter is hosting one of their S’mores & Chores events. Families perform a basic task together then enjoy a reward of s’mores in the beautiful Fire Garden at Izaak Walton. This evening’s task will be a search & rescue mission. Families will search the scenic walking paths to find any teddy bears that were left behind during the annual Teddy Bear Hunt.
Cost: Free.
