From: South County MuseumVisit us for South County Museum’s 38th Annual Folk Art Quilt Show. Quilts from regional makers will be displayed throughout the Metz Exhibition Hall.
The show will feature a collaborative lecture given by Museum Director Rebecca Kelly and research fellow Emma Manning, titled, "What Quilts Reveal: Stories of Nineteenth-Century Printed Textiles and Technology". The lecture is at 11 am each day and included with admission.
The show will also feature the Museum's recently launched community quilt project "The Colors of Canonchet". All the fabric for the project is being naturally dyed in our Fiber Shed. The color choices are inspired by the Canonchet Farm environment through the seasons. We are asking for input about what type of quilt we should make. The size, block style, design ideas, and quilting techniques are all up for discussion.
