Nuts & Bolts from our 24PearlStreet Faculty
We asked poet and 24PearlStreet instructor January O'Neil, author of Glitter Road, for writing advice for our community.
"Read widely. Read poetry that is different from what you normally read. Read poetry outside of your normal preference or aesthetic, just to get a feel for what other poetries can do. There are poets writing in styles that contrast with yours. Try to get a sense of what others are attempting--even if you don’t particularly like it. Embrace the possibilities."
