To celebrate Veterans Day, join us for a Scenic Alameda Paddle – In Partnership with the USS Hornet Museum

Join us for a meaningful Veterans Day event on Monday, as we honor veterans and highlight the rich military history of the Bay Area with a special Scenic Alameda Waterfront kayak tour. This experience offers a unique opportunity to paddle alongside the historic USS Hornet during their annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony.

Location: Launch from Sea Trek Alameda, Ballena Bay Harbor

Price: $100 per adult, $85 per child

Capacity: Limited to 40 paddlers

Distance: To reach the Hornet, we’ll be paddling a minimum of 4 miles roundtrip.

Led by Kenny Fellows, an Afghanistan War veteran and dedicated Sea Trek guide, this 3-hour tour will provide participants with insights into military history in the Bay Area while fostering a space for reflection and discussion on veteran identity and issues. Kenny is passionate about bridging the civilian-military divide and will guide you through this special experience.

We are proud to donate 100% of the proceeds from this tour to the USS Hornet Museum, a vital institution supporting veterans and educating the community. The tour will begin with a paddle through Alameda’s scenic waterfront and culminate in observing the USS Hornet’s ceremonial TAPS, closing prayer, and wreath toss around 11:45 AM from the Fantail.

Reserve your spot now to be a part of this unforgettable event and show your support for veterans and the incredible work of the USS Hornet Museum. Together, let’s honor those who have served and strengthen our connection to the community.
About Kenny Fellows

Kenny is an Afghanistan veteran, having served in the Army for 10 years. After going through a difficult and isolating separation period like many fellow veterans, he found a reason to continue service through his work and help bridge this growing divide with those who have served. With that in mind, we felt the typical celebrations associated with the holiday are not enough to grasp the cost of that service, and wish to host an event that educates as much as it celebrates. Putting a focus on learning about military history in the Bay, and discussing veteran identity and issues, with the goal of bridging this divide.
