Exploring The Odyssey

While the Second World War rages, the teenage Mahito is relocated from Tokyo to the serene rural home of his new stepmother Natsuko, where he meets a persistent gray heron. Winner of the 2023 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Audiences are invited to join A.R.T. at The Brattle Theatre for film screenings that explore Homer’s epic-and epically influential-tale. Each screening will be accompanied by a special introduction from A.R.T. staff.

Co-presented with The Brattle, which has been showing the best in classic, cutting edge, foreign, and arthouse films since 1953.
