Brooklyn’s Super Yamba takes it’s cues from 70s/80s West-African Afrobeat and Psychedelic Funk - they look back to artists such as Orchestre Poly-Rythmo, Super Djata Band, Ebo Taylor and of course Fela Kuti for inspiration. Super Yamba also collaborates regularly with legendary Afrobeat and Juju guitarist/singer Leon Ligan-Majek a.k.a. Kaleta as well as Osei Korankye, Ismael Kouyate, Mamadou Mbengue.
