Pat Lambdin is a sarod artist based in Burlington, Vermont. The sarod is a stringed instrument used in Hindustani music (North Indian) believed to have emerged from the Afghan Rabab in the 19th century. It has a long metal neck and a goat skin head which gives it its distinct sound. Pat is a disciple of the renowned sitar artist Padma Shri Pandit Shivnath Mishra of the Benares Gharana (musical lineage). He performs in India and North America and recently recorded 'Shiv Sarod vol. 1' with one of India's leading young tabla players Prashant Mishra. Pat has dedicated his life to the path of music and to promoting Indian classical music to diverse audiences.
