Running the Vines is the Yadkin Valley Wine Region's premier 5K/10K event featuring live music, delicious food, wine and NC craft beer - all on the beautiful grounds of Shelton Vineyards in Dobson, NC.

In addition to a fun and exciting 5K/10K event, participants receive an awesome race t-shirt, deluxe custom finisher's medal, packet filled with sponsor goodies and a complimentary classic wine tasting in the Shelton Vineyards Tasting Room (Age 21+).  Spend the day with us or make plans for a couples, friends, or girls getaway weekend!

Both races start and finish at Shelton Vineyards and feature beautiful views of the vineyard and neighboring country farms. The 5K Team Challenge offers a chance for you and your friends to show everyone who has the fastest team and take home the 5K Team Challenge trophy.  Little "vine-runners" can take part in the Kids 1/2 Mile Kid's Fun Run sponsored by Chick-fil-A, where each will receive their own finisher's medal.

Packet Pickup - 6:00 AM - 7:30 AM

10K Race - 8:00 AM

5K Race - 8:15 AM

Kid's Fun Run - 9:30 AM

5K Awards - 9:45 AM

10K Awards - After 5K Awards

Timing & Awards

All 5K and 10K finishers will receive a finisher's medal.

The Top 3 Overall Male and Female winners and Age Division winners of the 5K and 10K will receive a special custom medal.

Top 3 Overall Male and Female winners of the 5K and 10K will also take home a signed bottle of Shelton Vineyards wine, a custom engraved stemless wine glass, and a premium Shelton Vineyards prize package.

The 5K Team Challenge team winner will receive a commemorative crystal team trophy.

Awards Categories -

5K & 10K Overall Male and Female 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

5K & 10K Age Divisions - Male and Female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place: 13 and Under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over.

5K Team Challenge - The winning team is decided by the average time of the 5 fastest team members. Team members are also eligible for individual overall and age group awards.
